Perfect Trick to Finding Your Best Shade
of Lip Color

  • Women with fair skin, look great in lipstick shades such as nudes in a slightly apricot shade, pinks and light corals. Stay away from browns, which will appear blah.

  • Those with a medium skin tone can go a bit darker. You'll look great in roses, mauves and berries. Skip the bright reds and consider a deep burgundy instead.

  • Deep plum, chocolate or red is fabulous with dark or black skin. According to the editors of Allure's "Confessions of a Beauty Editor," women with dark skin "can go in one of two directions: toward brown or purple. Think caramel or walnut for day, and plum or wine for evening."

Eyeliner Tip's

Eyeliner, when used correctly, can open the eye, change its appearance and create extra fullness for thin lashes. It can make a bold fashion statement or be a subtle boost!

  • Decide which type of eyeliner you need. A classic pencil creates a soft line and is fairly easy to work with. A gel or liquid eyeliner creates instant drama but requires precision and patience.

Eyeliner that complements your eye color!

  • Browns and plums compliment brown eyes

  • Taupe and deep green compliment green eyes,

  • Sandy taupes and deep browns make blue eyes sparkle

  • Hazel eyes, pick the color you'd like to bring out and buy an eyeliner in the same hue or choose black to bring out all of the colors at once.

How to apply eyeliner

Liquid eyeliner

A typical way to apply liquid eyeliner is to, line your eye from the inside of the lashes outward in one big sweep. You can also line the eye from the middle of the lashline outward. Then finish the line from the inner corner of the eye to the middle

Pencil eyeliner

  • Close one eye. Try not to hold it closed with your fingers or pull on the lid. Pulling and tugging on your delicate eye skin can stretch it and cause premature lines.

  • with the upper inner corner of your eyelid. Draw a line as close to the lash line as possible. You can use short strokes if it's easier for you. Continue all the way to the outer corner of your eye. Keep the line thin on the inner corner and thicker on the outer corner

  • Draw a line under the bottom lashes starting with the outer corner working inward. Keep the line close to the lash line. Use short strokes again if it's easier and continue to the inner corner. Again, keep the line thin on the inner corner and thicker on the outer corner

  • Smudge the line if you prefer a thicker, softer look. You can use the opposite end of the pencil or the "smudge tip" of some eyeliner's A finger sometimes works, too. You are just gently smudging the line into a softer, wider line using short strokes.

    Blush
  • Powder Blush - Powder blush is great for all skin types, but best for oily skin and anyone looking for long-lasting color (it’s the densest of the blushers).
  • Cream Blush - This type of blush is best applied with the fingers. It’s also dense, but lets your skin show through. Cream blush is particularly suited for dry skin because of its rich, moisturizing ingredients.
  • Gel Blush - Gel blushes provide a sheer glow. They work best on oily to normal skin and are hard ot spread onto dry skin since they are fast-drying.
  • Tint Blush - Like gel blush, tints are fast-drying and can look streaky over foundation. If you’re going to use it, blend it fast and blend it well. Once it’s set it won’t budge until you wash your face.
  • Shimmers - These are great for giving a light gleam to your cheekbones. These are best for nighttime. The great thing about shimmers are you can dab them on your forehead, in the bow of your upper lip or in the inner corners of your eyes. But avoid your highly wrinkled spots, since these will accentuate them.

The right color blush for your skin tone

The best blush color for your cheeks is usually the one closest to your skin tone. Think of the flushed tone your cheeks take on after exercising or emerging from a hot shower; that is the natural color you want to aim for when choosing your blush color. Following this guideline will also help you avoid choosing a blush color that seems artificial. The perfect blush color is one that looks as natural as possible.

Harmonize Lip and Blush Colors

Another helpful way to find the right blush color for your skin tone is to match it with your current lip color. If you favor pink tones for your lips, it's likely that a pink blush color will also work well on your cheeks.
Remember that blush color not only adds a tinted hue to your skin, but also provides depth and dimension to your cheeks.

How to apply your blush

  • Place a small amount of blush on the brush and gently tap off any excess. Or, place a small amount of cream on your middle finger

  • Look in the mirror and smile.

  • Place powder blush on the apple of your cheek and gently brush up your cheekbone toward your hairline. Dot cream blush beginning at the apple, and gently blend up the cheekbone toward the hairline

  • Focus your blush at the outside of your face near your hairline if you have a fuller face. For high cheekbones, concentrate blush in the center of your face to accentuate your bones.

  • Blend a little blush down your cheek for a little more natural, less dramatic look.

Blush Tips

Clean your brushes with baby wipes. If you don't keep your brushes clean, they'll gather bacteria and transfer it to your skin

Using powder blush? Always sweep it in one direction. Going over & over or around and around causes streaks & can hurt your brush

Dusky pink blush will warm up any tired-looking skin
